Roberto Bolle has been selected to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, becoming the first Italian ballet dancer to earn one of the entertainment industry’s most recognizable honors.
The Italian étoile is among 32 members of the Walk of Fame Class of 2027. No date has yet been established for Bolle’s dedication ceremony. Selected recipients have 2 years to arrange the event, and official dates are generally announced approximately 10 days beforehand.
For Bolle, the recognition crowns a career that has brought Italian ballet to major stages worldwide. Born in Casale Monferrato in 1975, he entered La Scala Theatre Ballet School at age 12 and became an étoile of the Milan theater during the 2003–2004 season.
In 2009, he became the first Italian man to join American Ballet Theatre as a principal dancer. He remained with the New York company until his farewell performance in Manon in June 2019.
Bolle has also performed with the Royal Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, Mariinsky Ballet and Paris Opera Ballet. His international appearances have included Buckingham Palace, the Metropolitan Opera House and the Olympic ceremonies in Turin in 2006 and Verona in 2026.
The Hollywood star recognizes not only Bolle’s extraordinary career but also ballet’s growing place within global popular culture.
