The Greater Rockford Italian American Association honored three community members during its annual Italian Hall of Fame and Special Recognition Award Dinner on Oct. 3 in Rockford. Jay Villani and Joy Parlapiano were inducted into the organization's Italian Hall of Fame, according to a community announcement.
Kathy Veroni, a longtime softball standout, received the Special Recognition Award in Sports. The honorees also were recognized during the annual Columbus Day Mass on Oct. 4 at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 1010 Ferguson St., in Rockford.
