Rome Fiumicino’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport has once again been named the best airport in Europe among hubs handling more than 40 million passengers a year, confirming Italy’s growing role in international aviation. The recognition, awarded in Prague by ACI Europe, marks the eighth time since 2018 and the fifth consecutive year that Fiumicino has received this distinction.

The award is not simply a matter of prestige. It reflects the transformation of Italy’s main airport into one of Europe’s most efficient, innovative, and passenger-focused hubs. In 2025, Fiumicino surpassed 51 million passengers for the first time, a historic result that places it among the continent’s major gateways. Its growth has been supported by investments in infrastructure, digital tools, sustainability, and customer service.
