Superior native Ron Orlandi was inducted into the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame on Saturday, Feb. 14 in a ceremony at the annual WBCA State Clinic and Convention in Madison.
Orlandi, the Brooklyn-born son of Italian immigrant parents, signed a contract with the Washington Senators at the age of 18 but put baseball on hold in 1950 when he was drafted into the U.S. Army in the Korean War, where he served as a tank driver during the Battle of Old Baldy in the 45th Division.
