Our Lido Civic Club Italian Heritage Night at Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD was a resounding success! More than 50 members and family gathered to watch the Baltimore Orioles take on the New York Yankees.
While most of our group cheered for the Orioles, a few of our New York transplants rooted for the Bronx Bombers. Unfortunately for the hometown fans, the transplants took bragging rights with a 3–1 Yankees victory.
However, before the first pitch, over a dozen members and guests kicked off the festivities with a delicious lunch at Amicci’s in Little Italy. The restaurant, the meal and friendship were an amazing combination for a great time. After Amicci's, a group went on to Vaccaro's Italian Pastry Shop. Again, another great time, with some expresso, cannoli, gelato, and Italian cookies and we were all set.
A special thank you goes to Lido member and past president Tom Regnante. Tom masterfully organized both the game tickets and the luncheon. He patiently fielded countless phone calls to help members navigate the notoriously tricky MLB digital ticket downloads, transfers, parking, and other event logistics.
Special thanks to Lorry Clavelli and Frank Guglielmo for this write-up.
