There’s a Fountain in Italy That Dispenses Free Wine!

Picture this: you’re walking through the hills of Abruzzo, and instead of stumbling on an ordinary water spout, you find a sleek little fountain pouring ruby-red Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, one of the region’s signature wines, completely free. Travelers, hikers, and road-trippers stop here to fill a glass, take a photo, and enjoy a truly one-of-a-kind moment. It’s become a symbol of Abruzzo’s legendary hospitality and its love for sharing good wine and good company.

The story began back in the 1980s, when Domenico “Mimì” D’Auria founded the Dora Sarchese Winery. Today, his son Nicola carries on the family legacy with passion and creativity (he also happens to be President of Italy’s Wine Tourism Movement).
