Italy has strengthened its position at the top of the international sparkling wine scene, with Trentodoc emerging as the world’s most awarded traditional-method sparkling wine at the 2026 Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships.
The sparkling wines produced in the mountains of Trentino collected 79 medals – 35 gold and 44 silver – confirming Trentodoc’s leadership for the second consecutive year. The competition, founded and directed by sparkling wine expert Tom Stevenson, evaluated around 1,000 wines from 18 countries in its 13th edition.
