Two mountaintop sites in and around Turin offer new perspectives

By: Rita Cipalla

Surrounded by mountains to the north and west, Turin, the capital of the Piedmont region, offers visitors access to hiking and skiing or just enjoying nature through its urban parks and wildlife areas.

But for those looking to experience the mountains in a new way, the region offers two outstanding historic sites: the National Museum of the Mountain and the Sacra di San Michele. Both provide stunning hilltop vistas, valuable historical perspectives and a fascinating look at Italy’s past.
