Highland Avenue is preparing once again to fill with music, food vendors, carnival rides and family traditions. Verplanck, about three miles from Peekskill, will host the 104th annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Feast from Wednesday, July 15, through Sunday, July 19. Organized by the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society, the five-day celebration will take place at 155 Highland Ave.
The celebration is recognized as the “longest-running Italian feast in the Hudson Valley” for bringing together religious traditions, Italian-American culture, live entertainment and activities for the entire family in a single event. The festival will open Wednesday and Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday beginning at 5 p.m., and welcome visitors Saturday and Sunday starting at 4 p.m.
