Italy's famed naval academy training sailboat the Amerigo Vespucci, dubbed the most beautiful ship in he world, is heading to New York for the Fourth of July celebrations there and as a sign of Italy's deep friendship with the United States despite a spat between leaders Donald Trump and Giorgia Meloni, Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said Tuesday.
"The Amerigo Vespucci sails to New York to celebrate, on July 4th, the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America," he said on X. "The Vespucci will be there, on a long-planned voyage, to commemorate our century-long relationship with the United States and the deep friendship that binds our two peoples.
