They say you can visit Italy a thousand times, but you will never see the same country twice. Well, I’m working on it. Almost every year, I visit a new region. Think of it as a bucket list, except the entire bucket is shaped like Italy and is filled with Italian history, and sitting beside this Italy-shaped bucket are bottles of Italian wine and plates of Italian food.
I travel in the off-season between November and March when it’s less expensive and there are fewer crowds. I’ve been to places such as Turin in Piedmont, Cilento in Campania, Tropea in Calabria, Spoleto in Umbria and Matera in Basilicata.
