The IACS was invited to participate in the Sterling Heights Cultural Exchange held at their Senior Center on March 3, where many groups and cultures were represented.
IACS President Sandra Tornberg and Vice President Clarice Squillace greeted guests at a display table, sharing information about our culture and the IACS, and our event coordinator Casey Stadler was on hand to serve antipasto skewers. Angela and Luigi LaMarra and members of the Coro Italiano opened the musical portion of the event as they have done for many years.
The highlight of the evening was a musical performance by our Italian Education students under the direction of their teachers Maria Sugameli, Marta DeCarolis, and Dianna Gugliemetti. Mrs. Gugliemetti is a voice and piano teacher whose children are enrolled in our program. She has generously donated her time and talents to work with our students to prepare them for their musical debut.
We welcome the opportunity to participate in these types of events because it allows us to showcase the IACS and all that we have to offer.
