Tuesday, July 10th, the initiative Culture, Traditions and Economy of Friuli Venezia Giulia in New York will introduce the excellence of this region, rich in technological innovation, history and culture.

The project is funded by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and put together by Ente Friuli nel Mondo, in partnership with four immigrants associations, ERAPLE, Associazione Giuliani nel Mondo, EFASCE, Unione Emigranti Sloveni del FVG  with the coordination of Confederazione degli Imprenditori Italiani nel Mondo di New York (Confederation of Italian Entrepreneurs in the World of New York). Participating to the program will be Confindustria Udine, Unione Industriali of Pordenone, Confartigianato-Imprese Udine and the Friuli Mosaic School of Spilimbergo.

Starting at 2.00 pm, in the offices of the Gibbons law firm (One Pennsylvania Plaza, 37th Floor 10119-3710), representatives of the Circolo Italiano and delegates from Friuli Venezia Giulia will hold a round table on craftsmanship, entrepreneurship and the potential of the American market, exploring in particular the economic and legal profiles.

The round table, titled Industry, crafts, culture and traditions of Friuli Venezia Giulia in the U.S. 4.0, chaired by lawyer Paolo Strino, partner Gibbons NYC and president ALMA, will include presentations by Tomaso Veneroso, CEO Am Cast Inc. and president Confederazione degli Imprenditori Italiani nel Mondo, Clara Flebus, Court Attorney at New York State Supreme Court, Monica Ermacora, marketing manager USA Acqua di Parma, Marc Lupinacci, Amazon manager and president Fogolâr Furlan Big Apple New York, and Gina Paveglio, business manager for North America di Officine Meccaniche Pondita SrL, Monterosa Zelandi SrL. In attendance will also be Carlo Mantica, managing director of Maccioni Group and president of the Confederazione Imprenditori Italiani nel Mondo USA and Sara Traverso, CEO of REISOL.

Representatives of the delegation coming from Friuli Venezia Giulia will have the opportunity to discuss the difficulties and successes connected to the individual professional experiences in the U.S. and to share strategies and solutions aimed at entering the American market and competing in it.

In the evening the spotlights will be on craftsmanship and the art of mosaic. At 5.30, the Event Space at Zio Ristorante, in the Flatiron District (17 W 19th St.), will host the event, open to the public, Friulian art and crafts in the Big Apple, which will provide an overview of the region's artisanal treasures, curated by Confartigianato -Imprese Udine, and a presentation of the history and activities of the Friuli Mosaic School.

Founded in 1922, the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli is an international point of reference for the art of mosaic and, from Spilimbergo, it exports artists and works all over the world, including the Big Apple. The presentation in New York is meant to further open up to the world and make the school known by more and more people fascinated by this ancient art that has been reinvented in the contemporary scene.

The last appointment of the day will be the presentation of the book Our Roots at the Table. Food Culture, a Bond with the Land of Origin. Friulian, Julian and Slovenian Products and Cuisine, recently translated from Italian. Since food is an integral part of the Italian cultural heritage and 2018 was declared National Year of Italian food by the Secretaries of Agriculture and Culture, Friuli Venezia Giulia could not but include gastronomy in its offer.

Completing the diplomatic mission to New York, the delegation from Friuli will meet with Luca Balestra, head of European Corporates NY and vice president of UniCredit Bank NY, who will give an overview of the American credit system.
