Professor Lucchi, Substitute Lecturer in the Department of European Languages Italian Program, will discuss Margherita Sarfatti's 1937 travelogue, America. Ricerca della felicità. In particular, he will illustrate how Sarfatti, a major Italian intellectual and, at one point, Mussolini's lover-considered the Italian American linguistic identity as an antidote to ideas of racial purity.
