Cari genitori e amici della IAASD, this is to inform you that IAASD has decided to permanently close its doors in June 2022. These 10 years of activity were wonderful, challenging and extremely satisfying for us. We started out without knowing how far we could go or how long we could last, but our determination and hardwork prevailed. Over the years we expanded our offer teaching all levels, from the little ones with Parents & me classes, and all the way up to high school classes, working in three different locations.

In 2017 we were approved by two school districts (SDUSD and SDUHSD) to give language graduation credits to our high school students, bringing IAASD to a higher level of commitment. During our journey we worked with a capable group of professionals who were part of our board of administration, as well as with a president that guided us through it all.

Therefore we want to thank: Clarissa Clo’, Sabina Raineri, Marco Marino, Marianna Spinelli, Gloria Bader, Kerry Galton, Max Anastopulos, Carol Gratzke. Also, all the teachers and all the people that volunteered their time to the school. Last but not least, a big thank you goes to all of you parents for the trust that you put in us all these years, for your tireless commitment and for sharing the same passion for our beautiful language and culture from which this wonderful adventure originated.

We want to let you know that your efforts will not be lost. Our sister school, the Italian School of San Diego, directed by Maura D’Andrea, which has already taken over our lower levels, will also take over and carry on the upper accredited programs, guaranteeing a continuity in the education path.

As we say goodbye to all of you, we want to wish Maura and her team all the best and we count on your support to assure her a successful and satisfying experience, just like you did with us.

Grazie a tutti!
