A Chance In Life is excited to announce our 2019 New York Annual Gala Honoree: Guy Chiarello, President of First Data. We are so grateful to celebrate Mr. Chiarello as our 2019 Man of the Year, and hope you will join us in honoring him on April 30, 2019 at Cipriani 25 Broadway in New York City.

A renowned global leader in finance and commerce, Guy Chiarello has been at the forefront of banking, technology and innovation for more than 30 years. Guy has led product development and technology for three Fortune 500 companies, advised some of the biggest names in Silicon Valley and Wall Street, and is recognized around the world as one of the most prominent technology leaders in the industry.

Guy personally has been recognized multiple times by Institutional Investor magazine among its “Top Tech 50” and by Information Week as a “Global CIO Top 50”, was a NASSCOM CIO of the Year and is considered a key advisor by many leading technology company CEOs in the industry. Guy has also served as an executive committee member or advisor to a number of nonprofits, including the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI), NPower and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of NJ.

Guy is currently the President of First Data Corporation, the global leader in commerce-enabling technology. First Data’s technology and integrated solutions are at the epicenter of the payments ecosystem, driving commerce every day by powering more than 3,000 transactions per second and $2.4 trillion in annual transactions.

Prior to First Data, Guy was the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at JPMorgan Chase (JPM) from 2007-2013, where he led global technology across all lines of business in more than 60 countries. Guy also served as the CIO of Morgan Stanley (MS), where he began his career in financial services. He joined MS in 1987 as a technology associate and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a Managing Director in 1997 and was named CIO in 2003.

Guy is a philanthropic leader who generously supports A Chance In Life and many other charitable organizations. He has been recognized by numerous organizations for his philanthropic efforts. In 2018, Guy was selected by the Columbus Citizens Foundation as The Grand Marshal in the annual New York City Columbus Day Parade; and was an Honoree in 2015. Between 2016-2017, Guy was chosen by the Make-A-Wish Foundation as Humanitarian of the Year, selected as Man of the Year by the New York Hall of Science, and was inducted into the Italian-American National Hall of Fame. Guy was also named Man of the Year at the annual NPower Gala in 2013 and was honored with the Annual Founder’s Award by the Only Make Believe Foundation. Guy has also raised millions of dollars for cancer research on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Rutgers Cancer Institute of NJ, and several other organizations.

He is a graduate of The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), where he has received distinction for both athletic and professional achievements. Guy was awarded the 2004 TCNJ Alumni Citation, the college’s highest honor, recognizing outstanding community and professional service.

Guy has been happily married to Denise for 35 years, and his greatest joy is spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
