The Smeraldo family has had a busy summer. Not only did the owners of the Seattle institution Il Terrazzo Carmine recently open a bar called Bar Sosta right next door to their Pioneer Square Italian restaurant, but on Thursday, July 11, they announced that they were going to open a new restaurant next year in the U.S. Bank Center (USBC) skyscraper, reports Puget Sound Business Journal.

The new restaurant, called Carmines 5th Ave, will be the family’s third (they also have one in Bellevue). According to a press release from USBC, it will be “three stories tall with indoor and outdoor seating, private dining, and a bar.” USBC is in the process of bringing in more retail tenants and has already recruited Olympia Coffee to help fill out its new Cedar Hall space; that cafe should open later this month.
