The food events haven't stopped, but The Taste of Italy looks to not only present a stellar line-up of food but an authentically Italian atmosphere. Just as a fundraiser for the Italian American Museum, slated to open in early 2014, should be. Luckily, I also have a special discount code for my readers to share that will score you $5 off, so stay tuned til after the jump.
The event takes place in the shadow of Pico House, which was a 33-room hotel completed in 1870 and ordered by the last Mexican Governor of Alta California, Pio Pico. Now owned by the State of California and registered as a California and National Historic Landmark, the 3-story, Italianate building is the perfect backdrop for such an event. Located from Olvera Street, it's one more cultural landmark of this awesomely diverse city in one of the oldest parts of Los Angeles.
