All that will remain from the long partnership between the Kern County Fair and the Italian Heritage Dante Association -- officially, and rancorously, severed by the cultural group weeks ago -- will be a pile of rubble if the fair's board of directors approves a recommendation to tear down the elegant dining pavilion built by the Italian-Americans in 1964.
For the fair, the removal of the building is an issue of money and the potential to make much more of it.
