The Italian American Heritage Foundation is honoring the surviving two founders of the group at the upcoming Un Ballo d'Amore.
The first is Joe Guerra Jr., a longtime Willow Glen resident who with his brother Louie worked in his family's grocery story on S. First Street, eventually turning it into a sporting goods store. Guerra later went into real estate. The other honoree is Larry Marsalli, a former mayor of Santa Clara who also served in the city's Volunteer Fire Department from 1946 to 1967. A park in Santa Clara is named in his honor.
