Los Angeles dedicates an entire day to one of the most famous Italian film icons in the world: Monica Bellucci. The Filming On Italy Festival, organized by Agnus Dei and the Italian Institute of Culture, opened on January 31st with the screening of Malèna by Giuseppe Tornatore, a movie that, back in 2000, consecrated Monica Bellucci as an international star.
It also proposed On the Milky Road by the Serbian director Emir Kusturica. In the film, that premiered in the US at the Harmony Gold Theater on Sunset Boulevard, Bellucci plays an Italian refugee in Herzegovina, who embarks on a very complicated love story with a milkman. Monica Bellucci acted in 67 films in her long career; the last, at the moment in post production, is Nekromance in which the actress of Città di Castello was directed by Australians Kiah and Tristan Roache-Turner.
