The always smiling, always effervescent Angelo Quaranta—insurance executive, restaurateur, former Parking Commissioner, and former Police Commissioner—can now add another title to his long and growing list: Commendatore.

To be more precise, the title of the knighthood that was bestowed on him last night is Commendatore Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana, or "Knight Commander of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Italy."
