San Luis Obispo's popular street painting festival is getting a new identity.
SLO I Madonnari, which takes place Sept. 13 and 14 in downtown San Luis Obispo, will be sponsored by the and the San Luis Obispo Children's Museum.
Formerly known as the I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival, the annual event features dozens of local and visiting artists creating large, colorful chalk paintings. It celebrates 23 years this fall.
