Lino Tagliapietra in conversation with Elisabeth Agro, The Nancy M. McNeil Associate Curator of American Modern and Contemporary Crafts and Decorative Arts

In the late 1970s, noted Italian glass artist Lino Tagliapietra introduced American glass artists to new levels of technical virtuosity as well as the traditional glassmaking techniques of his native Murano. With Elisabeth Agro, Tagliapietra explains how his admiration for the independent spirit and audacity of American studio glass artists changed the dynamic of his own work. The lecture is being held in conjunction with Tradition Reinvented: Italian and American Glass from the Collection of Geraldine Dattilo Jawer and Edward Jawer in gallery 268.
