Last year’s Fayette County Italian Heritage Festival was an emotional time for Jim Santilli. Both he and Ron Romeo, the chairman and vice chairman of the festival respectively, worked diligently to return the beloved event to the streets of downtown Uniontown (PA) after a four-year hiatus.
“We grew up with the festival. We were there when it started back in 1980,” Santilli said. “So for us to carry on again for the next generation, we both broke down in tears because it meant so much for us to make this happen and to see the community come together.” This Saturday and Sunday the festival is back.
