Jim Dessicino is pleased to present, "Butchered and Cured" a exhibition of new artworks at Little Water Distillery in Atlantic City, NJ. Opening March 29th, 2018. With his new exhibition, Butchered and Cured, Dessicino tackles the iconic Italian tradition of curing meats. He seals them in gilt frames under resin in a gesture that is simultaneously reverential and blasphemous. Uniting all of Dessicino’s artwork is an examination of the traditions of Western Civilization with an emphasis on his ancestral homeland, Italy. He synthesizes old world traditions with the casino culture of his hometown.
Recent solo exhibitions include “Without Papers” at The Noyes Museum of Art, at Stockton University in Hammonton, NJ and the Harold J. Miossi Gallery at Cuesta College, San Luis Obispo, CA. Dessicino is a lecturer at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. www.jimdessicino.com
