Many are looking forward to this three-day weekend that commemorates Italian-born Christopher Columbus discovering our fair land. And this is one of the weekend's best bets — spend part of this holiday weekend celebrating with another Italian Christopher — Christopher Macchio, a classically trained Italian-American tenor who will perform classics straight from "the boot," as well as American standards at the Showroom at Golden Nugget Atlantic City 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.
Macchio, who some have dubbed a "combination of Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban," released his debut album "Momenti Dolci" ("Sweet Moments") in 2011, which included the songs "All I Ask of You," "Maria," "Nessun Dorma," and "O Sole Mio" among others. Fun fact: he recently sang for Rod Stewart at the rock star's birthday party and they ended up singing a duet together.
