Columbus Day Marchers Displays Pride in Italian Heritage

Huntington celebrated its Italian heritage Sunday with a Columbus Day parade along Main Street, featuring a band in medieval uniforms that traveled here from southern Italy,cars, service organizations and high school bands. The Cavalieri Bolla Pontificia brought a unique style with their colorful look and distinct sound.

Elected officials, including Suffolk Legislator Stephanie Bontempi, town clerk Andrew Raia, State Sen. Mario Mattera, Councilwoman Theresa Mari, State Assemblymen Steve Stern and Keith Brown, tax collector Jillian Guthman and Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy, joined the parade.
