Monday November 18, 2019, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM EST. Embassy of Italy, 3000 Whitehaven St NW, Washington, DC 20008. Register here. Join us on November 18th as we inaugurate the 4th Week of Italian Cuisine in the World with the opening of the exhibition “Queen: culture – traditions – taste”, a visual journey by World Press Award Winner photographer Antonio Gibotta curated by FIOF (International Fund for Photography).
As announced earlier this year by the US News and World Report, the Mediterranean diet ranked as the best diet in 2019. Already inscribed in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (2013), it was later joined by a typical Italian culinary practice, the art of the Neapolitan “Pizzaiuolo” (2017).
This collection of images will guide us through the unique flavors of the Bel Paese and the ingredients that ordained the Mediterranean diet as the Queen of all diets, and pizza as its crown jewel.
The exhibit’s opening will be followed by a pizza tasting, kindly sponsored by Marra Forni and Pizza University.
