On Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Rose Tree Park in Media, PA the 5th annual Italian American Heritage Festival will be in full swing from 11:00 AM until 5 PM. The 2014 festival continues the tradition of free admission for all.
Since its inception, the festival has welcomed increasing numbers of people who have grown to love and to look forward to spending the first Sunday in June enjoying this celebration of Italian-American culture. Fine Italian food from some of the area's most notable establishments as well as continuous entertainment by Italian and American performers are all part of the celebration.
Pat Ciarrocchi from CBS3 and CW Philly will be joining the festivities this year. Moreno Fruzzetti will headline an outstanding slate of performers that includes the Hot Club of Philly Band, the De La Salle String Band Orchestra and Greg Farnese. Italian authors and artists will be in attendance. Additional features include the Kids' Field of Fun with bounce houses, the Italian car exhibit, Bocce courts and tournaments as well as Italian lessons on the lawn.
Vendors including Esposito's and Isgro's from South Philadelphia as well as Luigi's and Giovanni's, La Laconda II go, Springfield Pasta, and Testa's Bakery, local favorites in Delaware County, will offer plenty of old world favorites. Novelty vendors offer a nice variety of Italian and American products. All in all, the festival will create a fine al fresco experience for celebrating the rich tradition of Italian culture in the region.
The festival is supported by the Consul General in Philadelphia, Andrea Canepari. Major sponsors include Delallo Foods, Crozer Chester Keystone Health Systems, Neumann University and Toll Brothers, Inc.
