Freeholder Vicari Meets with Toms River’s Italian “Sister City” Consul General

Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari (right) meets with Italian Consul General Andrea Canepari (center) during the diplomat's recent visit to Ocean County, where the Consul General announced a "sister city" agreement between the city of Matera, Italy and Toms River.

The two officials also discussed the county's large population of Italian Americans and joint tourism initiatives between the two nations. On the left is Mario Morano, a former Ocean County employee, leader in the local Italian-American community and official at the Italian Consulate in Philadelphia.
