Unlucky number 13 was lucky at the pasta-eating contest at Saturday's Bell' Italia Festival at Hazle Township Community Park. It was good to be 13 years old — the age of the three winners of the pasta-eating contest in the youth division at the annual event.

About a dozen combatants between the ages of 3 and 14 participated in the contest. They were given bibs, except two boys did not want to use them. "They are homemade," said Tom Lagana of Janney Montgomery Scott, the sponsor of the contest, about the bibs — plastic, table-cover material with narrow ribbon ties attached to the corners for tying around the neck.
