On June 1, Maestro Gianandrea Noseda directed "The Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini" by Sergey Rachmaninoff, the "Ancient Arias and Dances Suite No. 2" by Ottorino Respighi and the Symphony No. 2 by Alberto Casella, closing the program of the festival "Unexpected Italy: a celebration of Italian culture" organized by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute.
The Festival, which kicked off on May 3, has characterized the cultural offer in the American capital. Indeed, Italy and its music have been protagonists of a unique season, with a range of exceptional quality events that have embraced numerous genres, from the most famous to the less known, from contemporary pieces to a more classical repertoire, offering an insight into an "Unexpected" Italian music scene.
