An Italian leader is in Erie, looking to build ties. Consul General of Italy Andrea Canepari met with Rep. Flo Fabrizio Friday in hopes of exchanging culture and economic strategies. "It is a strange period in history, but that's why it is important to remember our ties between Italy and the United States."
Canepari visited the Erie Art Museum and the Maritime Museum with plans to make a stop to see Erie's Italian-American community. Canepari said Italy and Pennsylvania have a lot of similarities from family values and democracy to country loyalty. Canepari said he has high hopes for the new relationship with Erie.
