Hot on the heels of the newly expanded Holy Trinity Greek Festival, which wraps up Saturday, the St. Anthony of Padua Italian Festival is ready to start serving panzarottis Sunday. The 45th annual eight-day Wilmington festival will kick off at 3 p.m. and run until Sunday, June 16, taking over five city blocks between Howland and 11th streets and Lincoln and North Dupont streets.

All the traditions of past festivals remain, including midway rides, live music on three stages and plenty of Italian goodies to eat for the estimated 65,000 annual visitors. Newtown Square, Pennsylvania-based Italian food purveyor Luigi & Giovanni will take over the newly “reimagined” Scott Street food court, which will now be a closed street with tented seating.
