Marco Circelli new Executive Director of Filitalia

The Filitalia International & Foundation, a non profit organization that preserves and defends the Italian heritage and culture by encouraging the study of the Italian Language, has announced the selection of Marco Circelli as its new Executive Director.

“We are very pleased to announce this new appointment,” reported Dr. Pasquale F. Nestico, MD, FACC, Clinical Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at University of Pennsylvania, Past President and Founder of Filitalia International & Foundation. “Marco will bring leadership and creativity to our network that comprises of 25 chapters located in USA, Italy, Germany and Brazil. His previous experience in the same role, along with his enthusiasm and dedication, will allow Filitalia International & Foundation to support its growth and mission.”

Mr. Circelli holds a Master’s Degree of Economics, with major in Management of Commercial Enterprises, from the Bocconi University, Milan and a Master Degree of Music in Saxophone at Conservatorio di Musica “Giuseppe Verdi” Milano. Since 2011 Mr. Circelli has been in charge as Executive Director for Italy-America Business Council & Network, formerly the Italy America Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia, a bi-national chamber of commerce comprised of businesses and professionals throughout the Delaware Valley, fostering trade, commerce and successful business ventures between Italy and the Greater Philadelphia area. Further, Mr. Circelli is an experienced Clarinet Teaching Artist in middle school, under the program of Play on Philly!, an innovative education and social initiative that provides opportunities for personal development to children through the study of music in communities that have little access to music education. He is also a member of the faculty at Drexel University’s College of Arts and Science, Department of Culture and Communication, Modern Language Program, where he served as an Adjunct Professor of Italian.

The Filitalia International & Foundation plays a key role in spreading the Italian heritage in the Greater Philadelphia area and internationally, through its language classes and scholarship, contributing to this region’s quality of life.”

Filitalia International & Foundation is a non-profit organization, founded in 1987, to promote and preserve the Italian heritage and language throughout the world. The word 'Filitalia' means "Love for Italy", and its mission is to protect and spread knowledge of the Italian tradition and culture by encouraging the study of the Italian language.
