
Mayor Vincent C. Gray and Mayor Ignazio Marino met and signed the reaffirmation of the Sister City agreement between the city of Rome, Italy and the District of Columbia.
This agreement will build upon previous government to government exchanges while placing a new focus on youth and educational exchanges, as well as on social media outreach and other forms of electronic communication. Emphasis will be placed on promoting tourism, economic development, and the continuation of art and cultural exchanges. This agreement will be in force for a period of five years.
