Having both Abe Lincoln and John F. Kennedy as his early idols, State Senator Joseph Pennacchio is a unique type of leader with a passion for helping the working man and woman. Growing up in Brooklyn as the son of Italian immigrants, he was drawn to conservatism when the Democratic party moved away from it, which was about the same time that Ronald Reagan took the national stage.
Senator Pennacchio launched his political career when he won a seat, as a newcomer, to the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders where he served from 1998 to 2001. How does a dentist move from science to politics? His passion for both! Since 2008 he has served the people of the 26th District as a State Senator. Prior to serving in the State Senate, Joe Pennacchio was elected to the New Jersey State Assembly where he served from 2000 to 2008. He has been assigned to the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, as well as the Senate Transportation Committee.
