A group of Monmouth County residents are forming a new Italian American club.
The inaugural meeting of the Italian American Cultural Society of New Jersey will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Yorktowne Club, 113 Millhurst Road, also known as Route 527, in Manalapan.
The first meeting will be a meet and greet of new members, club president Michael Arato said. The club has about 20 members so far.
Meeting locations will rotate each month. The club plans to host different guest speakers each month, Arato said.
The social club also plans to host fundraisers to help local charities and potentially host trips for local families to visit Italy or Italian families to visit locally, Arato said.
