Wine lovers can raise a glass to something new emerging on the South Jersey scene. From Sicily to Tuscany (and beyond), several lesser-known varietals are showing up on local menus and wine lists. In Cherry Hill, Caffe Aldo Lamberti offers over a thousand different wines (30 percent from Italy) and has three on-site wine cellars that also function as private dining rooms.
Under-the-radar Italian wines, including some from Sicily, are enjoying more of the limelight, according to Chris Wanamaker, sommelier at Caffe Aldo Lamberti. A few, for example, include the Sicilian white called Grillo (the name means 'cricket'), as this wine has become more popular with those who enjoy pinot grigio.
