On Wednesday evening, October 16, the Essex County Board of County Commissioners held its annual Italian Heritage Month celebration, continuing a tradition of more than 30 years of honoring the accomplishments of individuals of Italian heritage. This year, special recognition was given to the Granata family, owners of Bella Italia Restaurant in Orange NJ, for their significant contributions to the Essex County community.
Commissioner Vice President Tyshammie Cooper honored the Granata family, highlighting the father-son duo Salvatore Sr. and Salvatore Jr., affectionately known as "the Sals." The Granatas were recognized for their commitment to providing exceptional service, their contributions to the Orange and East Orange communities, and the welcoming environment they have cultivated at Bella Italia.
