Saying Arrivederci to N.J.'s Consulate

New Jersey is well known as a U.S. bastion of Italian and Italian-American heritage, but it doesn't appear that Rome got the message.


The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to close its consulate in Newark, the only full-fledged office in a state renowned as the home of Italian-American pop-culture fixtures such as Frank Sinatra and "The Sopranos." A more limited vice consulate is located in Trenton.
