St. Vitus Festival marks 35th year

There was a time — the late 1940s or 1950s — when a small festival was held by St. Vitus Church, then located on Jefferson Street. Extension cords actually ran from inside of homes out onto the booths to keep them lit up.

How things have changed. Weeks before the popular St. Vitus Festival each year, locals and out-of-towners start anticipating what's in store — the food, entertainment, the famous Baby Doll dance, fireworks. And food, always food.
