Once again the parade stepped off without a hitch. Although clouds appeared in the sky, the sun shined through and not one drop of water fell from the sky - a summer day in the fall for the 42nd annual Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day and Italian Heritage Parade.
The trail of floats, cars and marching bands made its way through Franklin Avenue. Joining in the parade included Nutley mayor, John V. Kelly III and Commissioners Thomas J. Evans and Joseph P. Scarpelli and Belleville Mayor Michael Melham and Council members Vincent Cozzarelli, Tracy Juanita Muldrow, Frank Velez III. Additionally, spotted on that route was Nutley Police Chief Thomas Strumolo, Deputy Chief Gerard Green and Capt. Anthony Montanari.
