Each year the Hazleton Chapter of UNICO and Maurice C Raymond "RMR" Knights of Columbus honor an outstanding Italian-American as part of their Columbus Day dinner in celebration of their Italian heritage.
The organization asked community members to nominate individuals who exemplify the true spirit of an Italian-American – one who demonstrates, through example, a deep love of family, respect for the country, service to the community, and strong ties to their Italian heritage.
