A hot and humid rain didn't stop many Delawareans from attending the 14th annual Vendemmia da Vinici Wine and Food Festival Sunday that aims to promote Italian heritage. “[It is all about the] Italian culture,” said Chris Cassar, who was attending Vendemmia for the first time. “It is [also a] great time to come with friends."
The event in Bellevue State Park in Brandywine Hundred, is put on each year by the non-profit, Societa da Vinci, that coincides with Italian Heritage Month in October. Attendees not only got to sample some of the world’s best Italian and local wines, but got the chance to try and experience some local Italian fare too from gnocchi and pizza to biscotti and gelato.
