Dear friends, cari amici,
As my mission at the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago draws to a close, it is with great pride that I reflect upon the past nearly two years, during which the Institute has been deeply engaged in the presentation of the finest examples of Italian culture. It has been a unique privilege serving as the Director and collaborating with some of the leading cultural institutions in the world. None of this would have been meaningful without the engaged participation of our audience and I thank you for your commitment.

I am also enormously satisfied that ItalCultura, the official Italian language school at the Italian Cultural Institute, provides outstanding instruction to an ever-growing number of students. As I embark on the next stage of my career, I will draw continued inspiration from the earnest productivity and vitality that I encountered during my time in the Windy City.

My esteemed colleague Alberta Lai will assume the position of Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Chicago at the end of September. It is my wish that you will proceed in relying upon the Italian Cultural Institute to offer you a wide variety of thought-provoking events.
