Festival-goers can vote for their favorite Italian wedding soup Thursday, during the opening evening of the annual Italian-American Festival at Lock 3 in downtown Akron. The festival — organized by the Council of Italian-American Societies of Summit County — runs Thursday-Saturday, opening at 11 a.m. Thursday in time for lunch. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. Friday and noon to 10:45 p.m. Saturday.
The wedding soup tasting and competition will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Fortunately — given the weather of late — this event will be in Lock 3's indoor area, the Commons, next to the Akron History Exhibit and American Toy Marble Museum.
