A variety of activities are planned for the annual Tuscarawas County Italian-American Festival, which gets under way Friday at 7 a.m. with the Mayor's Breakfast in Tuscarawas Central Catholic Elementary in New Philadelphia.
Other festival events will take place in downtown Dover.
The breakfast traditionally honors recipients of scholarships presented by the festival committee. This year's scholarship winners are:
Kaylyn Archer, Massarelli Scholarship; Cara Boyd, Pace Scholarship; Elaine Hall, Skip Rondinella Scholarship; Anna Havranek, WJER/Petricola Scholarship; Meagan Poffell, TCIAFFI Scholarship; AnnMarie Simons, Hennis Care Centre Scholarship; and Brianna Thomas, Truck Sales Scholarship.
