Italian-American support organization hosts fundraiser in Clinton Twp.

For Italian immigrants living in southeast Michigan, COMITES di Detroit provides a home away from home. COMITES — “Comitato Italiani Residenti all’Estero,” or “Committee for Italian Residents Abroad” — is a branch of the Italian Consulate, and thus the Mininstry of Italian Foreign Affairs, says COMITES di Detroit’s segreteria, Teria DeLorenzo. 

The Michigan branch of the Italian Consulate serves as the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and provides free assistance to Italian citizens living abroad. From helping out with translation and applying for citizenship to passport renewal and more, COMITES helps with many challenges Italian immigrants might face in the United States.
